Diversity Project Working Group
The Diversity Project's aim is to address the following THN strategic priority:
"Enhance the capacity of HIV/AIDS-specific programs and services to serve more diverse communities across Toronto"
The Steering Committee undertook a process of consultation and discussion with its Members to determine what role THN, as a network, could play to support the efforts of its Members on this priority. Akim Adé Larcher (the Larcher Group) and Annemarie Shrouder (Building Equitable Environments) were contracted to consult Member agencies, gather additional information and prepare a Report, Recommendations and a proposed 2-year Action Plan in discussion with the Steering Committee.
Recommendations were presented to the Spring 2011 Members' Meeting. With the feedback received the Recommendations were revised and a 2-year Action Plan was developed by the consultants with the Steering Committee. The Diversity Project Action Plan May 2012- April 2014 was approved at the Spring 2012 Members' Meeting.
A Diversity Working Group begins meeting regularly September 2012 to move the Action Plan forward with updates and consultation to follow at Fall and Spring Members' Meetings.
